This Toa Luau package starts at 12:30 pm and finishes at 3:30 pm, making it a great option for families with young children and also for those who are driving from Waikiki. This earlier luau is otherwise the exact same luau with the same delicious buffet and the same show as their evening luau which starts at 5 pm.

Taking place within the Waimea Valley botanical garden on Oahu's North Shore, Toa Luau is unique in that it includes admission to the garden with its beautiful nature trails, a waterfall and historical sites. So if you would like to take advantage of the included garden admission, please arrive earlier in the day before the luau festivities.

The earlier schedule is especially convenient for families with young children and guests who prefer to drive back from the North Shore before dark.

Can guests visit Waimea Falls before the afternoon luau?

Yes. Same-day admission to Waimea Valley is included, and the valley opens at 9:00 am. Guests who want to walk through the botanical gardens and visit or swim at Waimea Falls should arrive about three hours before luau check-in, since the waterfall is reached by a 1.5-mile roundtrip paved path and swimming depends on daily conditions.

What happens during the three-hour afternoon program?

The experience begins with hands-on cultural activities and a traditional umu cooking demonstration, followed by a kava ceremony and Hawaiian buffet. The afternoon concludes with performances representing Hawaii, Tonga, Aotearoa, Tahiti and Samoa, including a fire-knife finale.

Check-in for the luau begins at 12:15 pm. The luau starts at 12:30 pm and ends at approximately 4:00 pm.
Parking at the Valley is $2.

If you decide to hike up to Waimea Falls before the luau starts, please give yourself at least 2-3 hours before luau check-in to hike and swim.
Your luau ticket includes access to Waimea Valley botanical garden and can be used on one day of your choice during the week before or the week after your luau. Waimea Valley hours are 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Please note: Waimea Botanical Garden and Falls is closed on Mondays all year except the summer months, which is June to August.

There are no specific restrictions for this activity.
Special Notes
Waimea Valley admission is included. Prior to the luau festivities, guests can take a walk on a paved path through the botanical garden and walk to Waimea waterfall. The walk is 1.5 miles round trip. If you like to experience the valley without hiking, there is a golf cart shuttle offered at $10 /person roundtrip at the valley entrance.

Swimming at Waimea Falls depends on daily waterfall conditions. Lifeguards assess the safety each day and make the swim call at 9:00 am. For the latest swimming status, you can call (808) 638-7766.
